Competition for 6 year old horses: Frank Ostholt and Quite Easy winners of the 2007 edition of the L
The suspense lasted right up until the end of the competition but after the final show jumping event, Frank Ostholt and Quite Easy won the World Championships for 6 year old horses, in front of Andrew Heffernan and Newton de la Love. Camille Piat and New de la Bergère held on to their 3rd place.

There were no unpleasant surprises during the final veterinary inspection on Sunday morning. Only the Portuguese rider, Joao Duarte Silva was not present with his mare Ucrania.
The show jumping event was very exciting. Even although the weather conditions had been ideal on Saturday for the cross country event, several 6 year old horses were showing signs of fatigue on Sunday. As a result, there were many faults recorded in the racecourse’s arena. As a matter of fact, only 8 couples managed to finish clear out of the 45 which were competing.
In the lead in the ranking, the young rider from Dijon, Camille Piat continued to have faith in her lucky star and her attractive horse New de la Berchère. Despite having four faults, the couple held on to their 3rd place. The rider, who is studying cellular biology, was already very moved the day before as a result of the performance of her horse, who is a son of Rosire, during the cross country event. As she left the arena, cried tears of joy. “My horse is really extraordinary! It is amazing! I can not believe that I have been able to reach this level of performance with him. I achieved this with my own method, as amateurs do… “
The World Champion Frank Ostholt was in 2nd position after the dressage event with Quite Easy, a small mare which was born at his stables. The German rider, who was confident about the ability of his 6 year old horse, demonstrated his skill and Quite Easy was clear on all of the obstacles. The couple left the arena with a clear round, which put additional pressure on Andrew Heffernan and Newton de la Love, who had been first in the ranking up until that point. The Dutch rider was not able to handle this pressure which cost him the victory. “I should have taken my time. I was in a hurry and the four faults on the last obstacle are my fault! But I am happy even so. Newton has a very good nature, which is vital for eventing.“ As for Frank Ostholt, he could not stop smiling. “Quite Easy is very calm and she has proved it again today. She was not overwhelmed by the arena’s layout and she jumped better and better after each round. I am very proud to have won the competition, especially with a horse from my own breeding farm!“
