Pippa Funnell (3rd in the competitions for 6 and for 7-year-old horses)

“Billy Landretti’s performance did not surprise me, but I am particularly happy about the way in which he galloped. I was rather unsure how he would perform as he had never competed on such a long distance before. As for Redesigned, he was extraordinary! He has a lot of energy and you do not need to push him, he forges ahead on his own! I knew that he was a horse which was perfect for eventing and in particular the cross country test. I knew that he was a courageous and frank horse when we performed our first cross country test together. When he came to my stables at the age 4, he was not in great condition, but the way in which he held his head gave him a majestic style which reminded me of Supreme Rock. And now when I look at him, at the finish line really fresh and ready to cover another 5,000 metres, I say to myself that he is a chestnut version of “Rocky“(Supreme Rock, editor’s note)! However, there is still the show jumping test and that is not his strong point…“

Malin Larsson (1st in the competition for 7-year-old horses)

“I really took great pleasure on the cross country course! Walter was courageous, in fact the he was very courageous, but when he finished he was tired. I know that I had a good horse, but he really did a great job! When I began the course I stayed calm; my objective was to finish the course without an incident and within the allowed time. Being first into the bargain is a bonus! We will see with the show jumping test. I do not know how he will have recovered and moreover, he has only jumped once or twice after a cross country test until now…“

William Fox-Pitt (1st in the competition for 6-year-old horses

“Oslo was impressive! He will come back next year that is for sure! He has confirmed his potential. Of course, there is still the show jumping test and even if he is good jumper in general, you never know and especially with all the public! I think that the change to the new format (that is to say without the steeplechase and road and tracks phases, editor’s note) means that now the riders must have two horses which know how to move and be brilliant on flat stretches. They also need to be great jumpers.“
